Is It The Market OR Are You The Problem?

Do you find yourself hesitating to pull the trigger on trades, and when you look back you say,
I could have made a lot of pips on that one if I had only.

Do you still leave trades on hoping they will come back. You know the “blowout trades”
that take all of the money you just made, and put you back to where you started or just
plain wipe out your whole account.

If you are not set to make the trade that your tested trading plan dictates you should make,
then your are set to make an emotional trade.

Do you keep making the wrong trades all the time? If so most likely you are the problem.
It is not the trading system you are using, or the market, or the limited time you have to trade,
it is YOU. You are the common denominator.

Solution:

Know your trading system
Follow the trade tracker
Keep a trading journal

Then

Make a trading plan
Follow the trading plan

These simple steps will help you develop the discipline to become a successful trader.
It is simple but it is not easy if you want to take short cuts and play the get rich quick game.
It takes time to develop the skill; patience, discipline, and persistence to become a successful trader.
But it is worth it when you get there.

Let your trading journal teach you what you need to do more of. Create collateral (a pile of good trades in your
trade journal) that educates you and compels you to see the way you should trade. Make sure your trading journal
include tons of examples of your successful trades. Make notes of what you do right and what you do wrong. The
notes should include the processes and procedures you used to take a trade. Just remember, you are not going to
want to spend hours going over your records so make the information to the point to accelerate your learning curve.

This week has been a productive trading week. I have been spot on in my trades. I am up in all of my accounts for the week by the follow percentages: (1) 3%, (3) 5%, (1) 13%, (1) 23%. It is Friday morning and I have been at the computer for a little over 30 minutes I have lost 2 trades out of 7 for the morning and am not taking sound signals. Today’s trades are still positive over, but I am tired this week as worn on me I had a rough night sleep last night, trying to get comfortable but unable. This week’s efforts have taken it out of me I guess. I am going to call it a day (early weekend); use prudence and stop trading for the week. I am not at my peak anymore and do not want to jeopardize this week’s gains by getting greedy and letting fatigue get me into bad trades. Happy Trading All! -Jed Norwood

The Easy Way To Monitor A Trade

When a trader makes a trade he should always monitor the trade no matter how long he is going to keep the trade on. To monitor a trade easily it is best done on time frames higher than those in which he normally trades. A trader can see a trade more clearly when he has a larger perspective. It is easier to spot the support and resistance levels the farther from the current time frame you are trading. The smaller the time frame is, the harder it is to judge where a good exit point is. That is if you want to get more than just a few pips on the trade. A trader who is concentrating only on a short time frame will miss things that are obvious to someone who is looking at the larger time frames.

Something that I like to do is find the trend on a larger time frame. Time the entry of the trade on a smaller time frame then move back up to a larger time frame to monitor the trade. This technique will help to get more pips out of a trade and still allow the market to move.
